Chambers’ Emerging Executives Colloquia a Success

Over fifty Emerging Executives attended the Saint Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Colloquia held on on Friday March 22nd 2019 at the Finance Administrative Center. Sponsored by  Peter & Company Distribution, Carasco & Son Limited and 1st National Bank, the Colloquia was led by Francis Lewis a former Lecturer at the Arthur Lok Jack School of Business in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Dialogue took participants through some critical realities those who are on the Executive path should be aware of and prepared for. Critical lessons including, learning by doing, awareness that at some point in time failure will occur, that Executives should be guided by provable facts and figures and seeing the Caribbean sea as a highway not a barrier clearly resounded with attendees.

 A simulated “Job Interview” was one of the key highlights of the session, which left many of the participants commenting on the short nature of the “three hour” session. Key interviewing techniques and innovative ways to better present the cators of interest to employers were demonstrtated. Many participants embraced the idea that the Chamber should pursue the suggested “Nurturing Emerging Executive Project”, which should include regular lectures and seminars, as well as networking, apprenticeship and training opportunities.

 Meanwhile the Chamber will be hosting two, two –day training sessions this week; Effective Sales Management for Managers who manage a Sales Team and Becoming a Sales Champion, for sales persons who wish to make their targets and grow their commissions’ exponentially, this will be facilitated by ResConsulting and will take place at Auberge Seraphine at Vigie.
